Matagalpa, Nicaragua, May 2014. Alfredo Rayo, a 60 year old coffee farmer, inspects his coffee beans. We overnight at a homestay in La Corona village. The people own, or work in, small familiy coffee plantations that sell their Arabica coffee via Sol Cafe, a Fair Trade cooperative. Matagalpa tours offers trips to coffee plantations and remote villages, rural community tourism, agro-tourism, hiking and biking.
